Nearly every photograph on this site is original work made on and around this ground. A handful of images came from the commons, and so does most of what the maps are drawn on. The commons deserves its due, and in one case it deserves the data back.

The photography.

The frontgate, the lifestyle library, the aerials, and the plat imagery were photographed for the property's first website by Bjorkman Media Co, and belong to Kroetch Property Group.

The photography that replaces them is being made by Josiah McIntosh, Clagstone's Director of Photography. His first frames are not here yet. When they land, this page will say which ones are his, image by image, because that is the whole point of a credits page.

From the commons.

A few specific images came from Wikimedia Commons and federal archives, used under their licenses:

The forest and lake scenes on several reads are public-domain photographs from the Idaho Panhandle National Forests, courtesy USDA Forest Service. They show the same national forest system the Bunco trails run through, used as scene-setters rather than literal depictions of the trail.

The map data.

The basemap under every map on this site, and several of the data files drawn on top of it, come from OpenStreetMap, which is made by people who map their own places and give the result away. Roads, lakes, the county line, the towns and the businesses in Athol are theirs.

Because those files are derived from OpenStreetMap's database rather than being pictures of it, they carry share-alike. We offer them back under the same terms, the Open Database License 1.0: the county line, the nearby and day-trip points, the Athol business directory, the road jurisdiction layer, and the vector tiles the maps are drawn on. Take them, use them, credit OpenStreetMap, and pass them on under the same licence.

Everything else on those maps is separately sourced and is not OpenStreetMap's: the plat, the roads, the water system and the lot geometry are Olson Engineering's survey; the electrical is Northern Lights' staking sheet; the contours and shaded relief are Kootenai County's 2019 LiDAR; and the Clagstone Meadows easement boundary is USGS PAD-US, which is public domain and was drawn by Idaho Department of Fish and Game.

The models on the homesite sketchpad.

The buildings and animals you can put on a homesite are 3D models made by other people and shared for anyone to use. They are illustrative: nothing is built at Clagstone, and a shape a visitor drags onto a lot is their own idea of it rather than a plan. Those under a CC BY licence are credited here by name, which is what the licence asks and what we would do anyway.

The models marked share-alike carry a licence that asks something extra: any modified version has to be offered under the same terms. We do modify them — every model is rescaled to real feet, recentred on its footprint and recompressed on the way in — so the files this site serves are adapted works, and they remain under their original share-alike licence. Take them and do the same.
